Students who choose to read this will write an essay response on the book at the end of the first week of school. This will count as extra credit on the first nine weeks grade.

Students will be assessed on this book during the first two weeks of school and will also be writing an essay response about the book. This book will be part of our initial class discussions as we kick off the year to give us a common starting place.

 

12th Grade Student Summer Reading

English IV Honors

All Honors English IV students are required to choose one of the novels listed below:

*MTSU-What the Eyes Don’t See by Mona Hanna-Attisha

* Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

* Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

* Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis

AP Literature and Composition

All AP Literature and Composition students are required to choose two of the novels listed below:

* What the Eyes Don’t See by Mona Hanna-Attisha (MTSU freshman book)

* Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

* Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

* Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

Dual Enrollment

All students taking dual enrollment English will read the following book:
