About Me

I am so excited to be an Eagle! I have learned, lived, and worked in Rutherford County for the past sixteen years. During this time, I earned my masters degree in English from MTSU, got married, taught at Smyrna High School and Central Magnet School, and had a son. I currently live in Murfreesboro with my fifth grader, husband, two dogs, and three cats. This will be my fifteenth year as a high school English teacher. I am currently working on a doctorate in education from Indiana University at Bloomington in literacy, culture, and language education. 

 

As a teacher, I believe in creating a student-centered classroom that respects students for their interests and knowledge and empowers them to be life-long learners, thinkers, writers, and readers.
