Here are the required summer reading lists for English grades 9-12
 
 

Incoming 9th graders-English I

All Standard English I students have the option of reading the novel listed below:

All Honors/Advanced Honors English II students are required to read the novel listed below:

Incoming 11th graders-English III
 

All Honors English III students must choose one of the following novels:

All Standard English III students have the option of choosing one of the following novels:

· Positive by Paige Rawl

· The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien *

· In Cold Blood by Truman Capote*

· Three Little Words by Ashely Rhodes

· Most Dangerous: Daniel Ellsburg and the Secret History of the Vietnam War by Steve Sheinkin

Students enrolled in Advanced Honors English III must choose one of the following books:

Incoming 12th graders-English IV
 

All Honors English IV students are required to choose one of the novels listed below:

· Educated Tara Westover

· Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

· Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

· Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis

 

All AP Literature and Composition student are required to choose two of the novels listed below:

· Educated by Tara Westover

· Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

· Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

· Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

 

Students enrolled in dual enrollment must read the following.
